Fees

Fees will vary depending on the counselling program you have been referred under. If you are experiencing financial hardship, please speak to your counsellor about options.

Mental Health Care Plan

These may be obtained from your GP and entitle you to a Medicare rebate of around $85 per session, for 6 initial sessions, with the potential for up to 10 sessions per calendar year. The full fee is required to be paid at the time of the session, and then the rebate can is reimbursed by Medicare. 

Victims Services Counselling Hours

Clients attending through Victims Services are not charged for appointments as Victims Services pay directly to the counsellor, for these sessions.

Session times/structure

Sessions will run for 50-60 minutes. 

Documentation

Your social worker will keep notes about the sessions, this is to ensure that important issues, goals or things we want to focus on together are captured. Sometimes your social worker might make some notes during the session, sometimes they will be completed afterwards. The notes are then kept in a locked filing cabinet. You can request to see them at any time.

Cancellations/No Shows

Life is busy and unpredictable; we totally understand this! If you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment there will be no charge if you can do this 48hrs before your scheduled appointment. If you cancel after this, or fail to attend, you will be charged 50% of the session fee. If you attend under the Victims Services scheme you are entitled to 2 missed appointments without this impacting your allocated hours.

I have over 10 years experience providing supervision to social workers and other Health professionals and have undertaken training in this area. I am available to provide clinical supervision to individuals or small teams and specialise in working with trauma and counselling with children, young people and families. I have specialised knowledge and experience in working with children and young people with problematic and harmful sexualised behaviours.

I also have extensive experience providing training to a range of professionals and services. Topics covered include: the impact of trauma on children and young people, child protection training, working with survivors of sexual abuse, working with children with problematic and harmful sexualised behaviour and working with children and young people in out of home care. I am also available to consult with or complete assessments for organisations and services. I have over 10 years of experience completing comprehensive assessments around issues including: child protection, parenting capacity, assessment of prospective foster carers, safety and risk assessments and family based assessments. I have a sound understanding of the systems and services that interact with children, young people and their families and the capacity to provide guidance and advice to navigate these effectively.
